OUR PASTOR

In October 1990, while visiting a Revival Service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where his brother-in-law (Johnnie Douglas) served as a musician, Pastor Tracy Wilson received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.  In 1993, he began co-hosting the Real Gospel Show with wife, Jennifer Wilson.  On November 5th, 1994, Holy Ghost filled, Pastor Wilson received his calling to preach God's unadulterated Word "to one or to many".  His pastor, Pastor Charles D. Gant of Second Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church licensed him, November 4th, 1999.  Pastor Wilson answered his call and  began writing and producing, "A Voice in the Wilderness". "A Voice in the Wilderness",  allowed him a weekly platform to preach and tell a dying world about our living Savior.

In January 10, 2000, after being interviewed by a distinguished committee of Pastors, his candidacy of ordination was unanimous. Pastor Charles D. Gant of Second Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church ordained him.

This 1984 graduate of Maple Heights "Mighty Mustangs", Pastor Tracy earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Akron University and his MBA from Baldwin Wallace University.  He started his career in banking and left banking as a Senior Vice President.  Pastor Wilson is gainfully employed and takes no salary from the church. Balancing work, church and home, he continues to work as unto the Lord in all aspects of his life.

OUR FIRST LADY

First Lady Jennifer Wilson, endearingly referred to as Lady J served as our Minister of Music and Choir Director before God called her forward to minister music as Contemporary Gospel Artist, Officially LadyJ. As a wife and Stay-At-Home Mom, Officially LadyJ is totally devoted to her family.  In this new season,  God is moving her from the background the foreground.  Lady J wrote, arranged and produced of two projects.  The first, a Christmas single entitled, Wishing You Merry CHRIST-mas, released 2018. The second is her 2019 debut album, Tales of a Congregation.  As a Christian recording artist, songwriter/ producer,  Officially LadyJ's music is ladden with the Word of God.  Her smooth tone floats over heavily baselines to create a very unique sound.  An eclectic fusion of techno, funk, R&B and pop.  A style that is far from Contemporary Christian mainstream. Nevertheless, make no mistake, its Christian music, Gods Word can be clearly heard throughout its heartfelt testimonial lyrics.

She accepted Christ and received God's precious Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues at age six.  As a child, she sang in Second Mount Carmel's Children's Choir under the tutelage of Sister Queener and musician Elaine Glass.  Then as a teen and young adult, she continued to uplift the name of Jesus through song as a member of Second Mount Carmel's Celestial Choir.  Her cousin, Tony Phelps was its director.  At that time, Second Mount Carmel Celestial Choir was one of the greatest choirs in the City of Cleveland and its Mass Choir had been professionally recorded.  Lady J, formally, Jennifer Bell, is the daughter of Gospel Psalmist and Recording Artist, Reverend Jimmie Bell of Alabama. She sang background vocals and toured with her dad, as a teen and young adult.

In the early nineties, she was a contributing columnist for the Call & Post Newspaper (oldest black owned publication).  Her column entitled, Real Gospel, allowed her the opportunity to interview local and national record artists, BeBe & CeCe Winans,  Dawkins & Dawkins and  The Winans Brothers.  The column then grew into an opportunity for a Gospel video show. Real Gospel gave Lady Jay the platform to advocate and promote contemporary gospel music.

As a background singer & video host, she has shared moments with a number of gospel's  greats,  the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Mississippi Mass, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, The Clark Sisters and The Winans to name a few.

In this new season,  Officially LadyJ is stepping forward with the release of album five entitled, "On My Way Up", to be released 3/23/23.

OUR CHURCH'S HISTORY

In 1992, Real Gospel began as a gospel video show hosted and produced by our First Lady Jennifer Wilson.  Pastor Tracy joined her as co-host in 1993.  The show aired till 1998, when Lady Jay became pregnant with their second child, Asia.  Real Gospel continued as an outreach ministry.  It evolved into, "A Voice in the Wilderness", where Pastor Wilson shared God's Word and gave viewers a invitation to Christ.

Pastor Wilson was licensed, ordained and served as an associate minister for six years at Second Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Charles D. Gant.  In 2005, with Pastor Gant's blessing,  the Wilsons welcomed neighbors, family and friends into their home for Bible Study.

In 2007, Rome Missionary Baptist Church moved from its Lincolnville home into Mt. Zion's original building.  After much prayer and fasting, along with encouraging and confirming Words from Pastor Charles D. Gant of Second Mount Carmel, Reverend Jimmie Bell of Montgomery, AL (father-in-law), Pastor Claudia Williams of Rome Baptist Church and Leonard Wilson Sr. (father), Pastor Wilson stepped out on faith.  Praising God for allowing him the substance to cover all the church's expenses through his tithes.  Our Pastor's vision was and still is for the saints to come into God's house not having to worry about offerings or feeling pressure to give begrudgingly.  God loves a cheerful giver! Real Gospel Missionary Baptist Church held its first service October 2007.

In 2014, Sister Ohara Brewster had a conversation at a local grocery store about a church in Twinsburg being sold.  She immediately texted Pastor.  Again Pastor Wilson sought the Lord's perfect will for the ministry, after diligently praying over the matter,  God clearly opened the door and Real Gospel moved three miles up Broadway Avenue to 10900 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg.

On August 28th, 2017, three years later, the church's mortgage on the Ravenna Road Property was paid in full.  "One for the Father, One for the Son and One for the Holy Spirit", we praise God for Pastor Tracy Wilson's spiritual & banking guidance resulting in Real Gospel Missionary Baptist Church's financial freedom!  We are in the planning stages our Mortgage Burning Celebration (TBA).
